In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, please join us as welcome Ballet Nepantla, a dance company led by Andrea Guajardo and Martin Rodriguez, which fuses contemporary dance with Mexican folklorico to explore new interpretative ways of delving into cultural and historical "in-between-ness." Drawing inspiration from Gloria Anzaldua's borderlands theory, Andrea and Martin imagined they could create performances that spoke to the "in-between" qualities of being from both sides of the borderland. Prepare to be inspired and amazed, and stay for a Q&A session after the performance. We hope to see you there!
This event is a proud partnership between the Department of English Literature and Language, Office of Student Life, Office of Inclusive Excellence Title V BASE Grant and the Department of Languages.
