Family Based Immigration Hot Topics--The Scholar --2019 IMMIGRATION SYMPOSIUM: FIGHTING TO KEEP FAMILIES TOGETHER FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2019

The Scholar: St. Mary's Law Review on Race and Social Justice will host its annual Immigration Symposium, focusing on the practical aspects of immigration law and the current policy debates surrounding the field.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear a variety of notable immigration attorneys, scholars, and leaders speak on current issues within the field of immigration law in the United States.

This CLE event is pending approval by the State Bar of Texas for 6.5 CLE credit hours (including 1 hour of ethics). 

Family-Based Immigration Hot Topics

Malou Chávez, Deputy Director at Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, and Yessenia Medrano, Staff Attorney with the Family Services Unit at Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, will discuss the latest on family-based immigration and provide tips for applying for immigration benefits through USCIS. The presentation will also cover recent USCIS policy changes, including the proposed public charge policy.
