Join us for a symposium on pedagogical approaches to teaching Mexican-American
cultural literacy studies. This event will address the recent passage of the
Texas State Board of Education’s Mexican-American studies Ethnic Studies course
at the secondary levels.
Interactive workshops and lectures on Mexican-American history, cultural
studies, literature, pedagogy and activism will be available and facilitated by
St. Mary’s University faculty, Mexican-American studies experts and community
activists.
This symposium is ideal for current and future middle school and high school
teachers or interested individuals. Continuing Professional Education (CPE)
credit is available for attendees.
